Prophetic clock: The last vote secured to pass Iran nuclear deal

Advancing the prophecy clock–the US-Iran deal

Not since President Jimmy Carter sanctioned the deposing of the Shah of Iran, which resulted in the establishment of the “democratic” Ayatollah Sharia dictatorship and the birth of a modern terrorist state, has an event had such powerful prophetic implications. The securing of the 34th Democratic vote in the US Senate by the current “president” will empower him to complete a deal with Iran that will allow the terrorist state to build a nuclear bomb over the next ten years and pay them over $300 billion to do it. Americans, in having leadership who would do such an evil act, are crossing over into that dark area of coming against Israel by bolstering an enemy with deadly power. There will be prophetic consequences.

The Jerusalem Post revealed Wednesday an Iran Fars News Agency release where Revolutionary Guards Tehran commander Brigadier General Mohsen Kazzemeini said, “They (the US and the Zionists) should know that the Islamic Revolution will continue enhancing its preparedness until it overthrows Israel and liberates Palestine. And we will continue defending not just our own country, but also all the oppressed people of the world, especially those countries that are standing on the forefront of confrontation with the Zionists.” Thanks to Senate Democrats and the “president,” America will be part and parcel to funding and empowering this end time player.

As fellow watchman and White House Correspondent Bill Koenig has documented in his book “Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel,” whenever the US has taken action against Israel there have been political, financial or natural disasters within a 48-72 hour period. The “president” secured the last vote needed to allow his Iran deal with Maryland Senator Barbara Mikulski committing to support Iran over Israel. Iran, modern day Persia, is specifically mentioned in the Ezekiel 38 prophecy of nations joining with the beast coalition and coming against Israel “in that day,” referring to the Day of the Lord. Iran having a nuclear weapon today, tomorrow, or a decade from now, advances the prophecy clock.

The end time prophecies will be fulfilled, no question. But the nations that participate in coming against Israel will suffer. At this moment, America is among them. Watch and pray between now and mid-month when the Iran deal is voted on by Congress. These are perilous times. In the beginning of the Abrahamic Covenant where God establishes Israel through the line of Abraham, the Lord says in Genesis 12:3, “I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curses thee.” When the Lord redeems Israel and judges the earth upon His return, He says in Zechariah 12:3, “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces…” We may be in for a rough ride unless our leadership changes. Our future is held in the balance of the next 14 days.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

“Moses bowed to the ground at once and worshiped. ‘Lord,’ he said, ‘If I have found favor in your eyes, then let the Lord go with us. Although this is a stiff-necked people, forgive our wickedness and our sin, and take us as your inheritance.”

“Then the Lord said: ‘I am making a covenant with you. Before all your people I will do wonders never before done in any nation in all the world. The people you live among will see how awesome is the work that I, the Lord, will do for you. … Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land where you are going, or they will be a snare among you. … Do not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.‘” (Exodus 34:8-14)

Putin’s Russia biggest threat to America?

Why Putin’s Russia Is The Biggest Threat To America In 2015

January 15, 2015 |

Like the stock market crashes that periodically wipe out so many fortunes, military crises are hard to predict. Washington’s track record as a seer of future threats is remarkably poor. From the bombing of Pearl Harbor in the 1940s to North Korea’s invasion of the South in the 1950s to the Cuban Missile Crisis in the 1960s to the collapse of South Vietnam in the 1970s to the breakup of the Soviet empire in the 1980s to Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait in the 1990s to the 9-11 attacks and rise of ISIS in the new millennium, America’s policy elite never seems to see looming danger until it is too late.

So don’t be surprised if the economic sanctions Washington has led the West in imposing on Russia look like a bad idea a year from now. At the moment, a combination of sanctions and plummeting oil prices seems to be dealing the government of President Vladimir Putin a heavy blow — just retribution, many say, for its invasion of Ukraine and annexation of Crimea last year. But as Alan Cullison observed in the Wall Street Journal this week, sanctions sometimes provoke precisely the opposite response from what policymakers hope. In Russia’s case, that could mean a threat to America’s survival. Let’s briefly consider how Russia’s current circumstances could lead to dangers that dwarf the challenges posed by ISIS and cyber attacks.

A paranoid political culture. Russia’s moves on Ukraine look to many Westerners like a straightforward case of aggression. That is not the way they look to Vladimir Putin’s inner circle of advisors in Moscow, nor to most Russians. That inner circle is drawn mainly from the Russian security services — Putin himself spent 16 years in the KGB — and to them the revolution in Ukraine was a U.S.-backed coup aimed at weakening Russia.

Putin describes the Crimea as a birthplace of Russian culture, and his government has repeatedly warned against the expansion of Western economic and political influence into a region historically regarded as Moscow’s sphere of influence. Putin relies heavily on the Kremlin bureaucracy to provide him with intelligence (he avoids the Internet), so his briefings tend to reinforce the view that Moscow was forced to intervene in Ukraine by Western subversion aimed at undermining his rule.

A nuclear arsenal on hair trigger. Between the two of them, Russia and America control over 90% of the world’s nuclear weapons. However, Moscow is far more dependent on its nuclear arsenal for security, because it cannot afford to keep up with U.S. investments in new warfighting technology. So Russian military doctrine states that it might be necessary to use nuclear weapons to combat conventional attacks from the West.

Many Russians think that attacks on their country are a real possibility, and that their nuclear deterrent — which consists mainly of silo-based missiles in known locations — might have to be launched quickly to escape a preemptive strike. Moscow staged a major nuclear exercise during last year’s Ukraine crisis in which it assumed missiles would have to be launched fast on warning of a Western attack. A senior Russian officer has stated that 96% of the strategic rocket force can be launched within minutes.

A collapsing economy. Much of Putin’s popularity within Russia is traceable to the impressive recovery of the post-Soviet economy on his watch. Since he came to power in 2001, the country’s gross domestic product has grown sixfold, greatly increasing the size and affluence of the Russian middle class. But that growth has been based in large part on the export of oil and gas to neighboring countries at a time when energy prices reached record highs. Now the price of oil has fallen at the same time that economic sanctions are beginning to bite.

The ruble lost nearly half its value against the dollar last year, and the economy has begun to shrink. Putin blames sanctions for 25-30% of current economic hardships. Many Westerns believe a prolonged recession would weaken Putin’s support, but because he can blame outsiders, economic troubles might actually strengthen his hand and accelerate the trend toward authoritarian rule.

A deep sense of grievance. Blaming outsiders for domestic troubles has a long pedigree in Russian political tradition, and it feeds into a deep-seated sense that Russia has been deprived of its rightful role in the world by the U.S. and other Western powers. Russia may have little past experience with democracy, but it was a major power for centuries prior to the collapse of communism.

Like authoritarian rulers in other nations, Putin has built his political base by appealing to nationalism, fashioning a revisionist view of recent events in which Russia is the victim rather that the author of its own misfortunes. He has called the break-up of the Soviet Union a tragedy of epic proportions, and apparently really believes it. By tapping into a deep vein of resentment in Russian political culture, Putin has created a broad constituency for standing up to outsiders even if it means prolonged economic hardship and the danger of war.

A vulnerable antagonist. Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen says America faces little danger from Russia’s current troubles, but that’s because she thinks in economic terms. In a broader sense, America potentially is in great danger because Putin and his advisors really believe they are the target of a Western plot to weaken their country. The biggest concern is that some new move by Russia along its borders degenerates into a crisis where Moscow thinks it can improve its tactical situation by threatening local use of nuclear weapons, and then the crisis escalates.

At that point U.S. policymakers would have to face the reality that (1) they are unwilling to fight Russia to protect places like Ukraine, and (2) they have no real defenses of the American homeland against a sizable nuclear attack. In other words, the only reason Washington seems to have the upper hand right now is because it assumes leaders in Moscow will act “rationally.”

The unspoken wisdom in Washington today is that if nobody gives voice to such fears, then they don’t need to be addressed. That’s how a peaceful world stumbled into the First World War a century ago — by not acknowledging the worst-case potential of a crisis in Eastern Europe — and the blindness of leaders back then explains most of what went wrong later in the 20th Century. If we want to avoid the risk of reliving that multi-generation lesson, then U.S. policymakers need to do something more than simply wait for Putin to crack.

That day will never come. In the near term, Washington needs to work harder to defuse tensions, including taking a more serious look at the history that led to Moscow’s move on Crimea. Over the longer term, Washington needs to get beyond its dangerous aversion to building real defenses against long-range nuclear weapons, because it is just a matter of time before some dictator calls America’s bluff.

Putin – Key Player In New World Order

Putin – Key Player In NWO

October 28, 2014 |

It is no secret that Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, president of Russia since May 2012 and a former KGB boss, is viewed with a lot of mistrust and suspicion by the West. Political stand-offs pitting Putin against the United States and her allies have most recently been exemplified by the divergent positions taken primarily over the Ukraine and Syria, which further appear to have reinforced the long-held view that Putin is a threat to freedoms in the West and the rest of the ‘free world’.

Many analysts seem to have concluded that Putin stands for a return to the aggressive and bullish hard-core communistic approaches and attitudes that were a core basis for the ‘Cold War’ between the capitalistic United States and the communistic former U.S.S.R.

On the surface, this does indeed seem to be the reality. Nonetheless, strange as it seems, both East and West are actually working towards the same end-goals using largely similar means. Concerns raised largely in the West with regards to the so called “New Cold War” is but a convenient smokescreen – diverting the world’s attention to the fact that Putin and his publicly accepted allies are actually working in tandem with the West towards one major mutual goal.

That goal happens to be the establishment on a ‘New World Order’: a common euphemized expression for a system of political and economic global governance and control over humanity.

This view may seem somewhat far-fetched to many. However, Alex Newman, in his recent analysis published in presents observations in support of his controversial conclusions. Says Newman: “… Putin, a former KGB boss, is following precisely the strategies toward world order outlined openly by the same Western establishment he purportedly stands as a bulwark against. He often refers to his vision as the imposition of a new, “multi-polar” world order. But a growing amount of evidence shows that it is exactly the same order sought by globalist Western powerbrokers.”

Key examples of such powerbrokers highlighted by Newman include former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, ex-National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski (architect of David Rockefeller’s infamous Trilateral Commission), Rothschild dynasty protégé George Soros, and former general and CIA chief David Petraeus, a member of the globalist-minded Council on Foreign Relations and the Bilderberger group. Even UN boss Ban Ki-moon is said to be inclined toward the globalist agenda.

According to Newman, some key elements of the “New World Order” involve the following objectives and strategies:

• Divide the planet’s people and nations into massive “regions” ruled by supranational institutions — such as the European Union, which is now responsible for the bulk of European laws — virtually free of public control or oversight.

  • A coherent strategy to “establish a concept of order within the various regions and to relate these regional orders to one another”.
  • Progressive regionalization of power towards larger, more stable, more cooperative units while manufacturing and exploiting crises along the way. This should then result in strong regional groupings and better global governance.
  • Building of truly global structures to eventually run the emerging “New World Order” as the regional blocs become integrated, suggesting co-ordination to an overall oversight and governing body such as the UN.
  • The eventual creation of truly global monetary and financial governance. This would entail diluting and even crushing national sovereignty and ruling over diverse nations by bureaucratic decree via such entities as the European Union.
  • Harmonized communities of economies, free trade zones and more sophisticated integration patterns geared towards major sectors such as industry, technology, energy sector, education and science.
  • The creation of a stable international reserve currency disconnected from individual nations, thus removing the inherent deficiencies caused by using credit-based national currencies. The IMF “proto-global” currency known as “Special Drawing Rights,” or SDRs, have been touted as a useful starting point for a world currency.
  • To develop and enhance the use of international legal courts such as the International Criminal Court (ICC) to centralize legal processes.
  • Use of such entities as the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and Financial Services Board (FSB) for global “financial policing”.
  • Global governance under the UN, with everything from terror and “global warming” to “human rights” enforcement being dealt with by the UN.
  • Exploitation of competition or even wars between regional super-regimes to dramatically accelerate the quest for global government by bringing about “a sudden transformation in national attitudes sufficient for the purpose”, via a series of sudden, nasty, and traumatic shocks, the aftermath of which would be managed and controlled by the UN.Putin’s aggression is said to be fuelling counteractive Western integration via the EU, NATO, and the “transatlantic partnership”, but also pursuing a “New World Order” via the regionalization approach. Putin’s initial intention to bring about the “Eurasian Economic Union,” comprising Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, later followed by other former Soviet regimes in the region, particularly members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).Putin denies that his goal is a rebirth of the USSR, instead writing that: “We suggest a powerful supranational association capable of becoming one of the poles in the modern world and serving as an efficient bridge between Europe and the dynamic Asia-Pacific region.

Alongside other key players and regional structures, such as the European Union, the United States, China and APEC, the Eurasian Union will help ensure global sustainable development… we believe that a solution might be found in devising common approaches from the bottom up, first within the existing regional institutions, such as the EU, NAFTA, APEC, ASEAN inter alia, before reaching an agreement in a dialogue between them…these are the integration bricks that can be used to build a more sustainable global economy.”

Newman also points out that Putin has been pursuing the “regionalization” approach to the new world order not only in Eurasia but on the other side of the Atlantic, forming a key alliance with US competitor Xi Jinping of communist China, as well as touting multiple integration schemes as partners in his efforts — especially the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), which includes all governments in the Americas except the United States and Canada.

Other “integration formations” that Putin has expressed public interest in include: the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR), the Common Market of the South (Mercosur), the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), the Pacific Alliance, the Central American Integration System (SICA), and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). The Putin/Jinping partnership also reportedly hopes to rope in the socialist- and communist-minded BRICS regimes — Brazil, Russia,India, China, and South Africa.

Newman concludes: “Finally, Putin’s globalist and establishment credentials hardly preclude the orchestration of a real war between “East” and “West” at some point, particularly if America cannot be induced to surrender its sovereignty to a global regime. Indeed, more than a few analysts have suggested that another World War between the two sides may be in the cards as a way of accelerating the move toward global government”.

Putin’s aggressive expansionist predispositions and belligerent attitudes, coupled with Russia’s rush to nuclear stockpiling, is rapidly setting the stage for just such a scenario. Consider the following recent developments:

• A recent edition of The Washington Times pointed out that for the first time, Russia has more deployed nuclear warheads than the United States, according to the latest numbers released by the State Department.

  • Putin has threatened to retaliate against US strikes in Syria, according to a WNDreport if her interests are threatened by the strikes.
  • EndofTheAmericanDream.comrecently reported that Russia has been conducting military tests targeted directly at the United States, as though preparing for an imminent war between the two superpowers – although clearly the advantage sits with Russia, based on known factors. They say actions speak louder than words. Clearly Putin is ready to do whatever it takes to remain a major player in the “New World Order” and certainly at the expense of the United States of America. The writing is on the wall.

Iran, Russia Hold Joint Naval Exercise

Iran, Russia Hold Joint Naval Exercise

TEHRAN, Iran — Oct 16, 2014

Iran’s state television says two Russian warships have left a northern Iranian port after the two countries held a joint, three-day naval exercise in the Caspian Sea.

Thursday’s report on the TV’s website quoted Iranian Adm. Afshin Rezaei Haddad, who is Iran’s navy commander in the Caspian Sea, as saying that the Russian vessels departed from the northern Iranian port of Anzali on Wednesday.

No further details were given.

It was the first visit in decades by a Russian fleet to an Iranian port in the Caspian Sea. In recent years Iran’s navy has increased its bilateral relations with various countries, including China and Pakistan.

Last year, a Russian naval group docked in the southern Iranian port of Bandar Abbas on the way home from a Pacific Ocean voyage.

The Lord’s Great Victory Over the Nations

38 The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshek and Tubal; prophesy against him and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshek and Tubal [Russia?]I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army—your horses, your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde with large and small shields, all of them brandishing their swords.Persia [ancient Iran], Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you.

“‘Get ready; be prepared, you and all the hordes gathered about you, and take command of them. After many days you will be called to arms. In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and now all of them live in safety. You and all your troops and the many nations with you will go up, advancing like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land.

10 “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: On that day thoughts will come into your mind and you will devise an evil scheme. 11 You will say, “I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people—all of them living without walls and without gates and bars. 12 I will plunder and loot and turn my hand against the resettled ruins and the people gathered from the nations, rich in livestock and goods, living at the center of the land. 13 Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish and all her villages will say to you, “Have you come to plunder? Have you gathered your hordes to loot, to carry off silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods and to seize much plunder?”’

14 “Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: In that day, when my people Israel are living in safety, will you not take notice of it? 15 You will come from your place in the far north, you and many nations with you, all of them riding on horses, a great horde, a mighty army. 16 You will advance against my people Israel like a cloud that covers the land. In days to come, Gog, I will bring you against my land, so that the nations may know me when I am proved holythrough you before their eyes.

17 “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: You are the one I spoke of in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel. At that time they prophesied for years that I would bring you against them. 18 This is what will happen in that day: When Gog attacks the land of Israel, my hot anger will be aroused, declares the Sovereign Lord. 19 In my zeal and fiery wrath I declare that at that time there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. 20 The fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the beasts of the field, every creature that moves along the ground, and all the people on the face of the earth will tremble at my presence. The mountains will be overturned, the cliffs will crumble and every wall will fall to the ground. 21 I will summon a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Sovereign Lord. Every man’s sword will be against his brother. 22 I will execute judgment on him with plague and bloodshed; I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him. 23 And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.’”

Ezekiel 38 on the horizon?

Watching For A Hook – Ezekiel 38 On The Horizon?

October 01, 2014 |

The list of experts who teach that Russia, Iran and others will attack Israel in a future war called the Battle of Gog and Magog is impressive (Ezek. 38-39). So for the sake of brevity, I will simply state that God will put a hook in the jaws of Russia’s leader (Ezek. 38:4) and drag him and his allies into Israel in the latter days (Ezek. 38:16) and latter years (Ezek. 38:8). And I will make eight points about this in connection with current events.

First, Israel attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities is not the Battle of Gog and Magog. But, if Israel attacks Iran’s nuclear facilities, Russia and Iran have said they will counterattack and that could be the Battle of Gog and Magog.

Second, I agree with those who say Psa. 83 is a prayer about a war between Israel and her neighbors that will take place before the Battle of Gog and Magog. This war hasn’t happened, but events seem to indicate that it could happen soon. An Intifada has been raging in Jerusalem for more than two months; there is currently a temporary ceasefire between Israel and the PA, but Hamas is threatening to break it and no one expects it to hold.

Third, I agree with those who say Isa. 17 prophesies a war between Israel and Syria that will take place before the Battle of Gog and Magog. This hasn’t happened, but it is something else that could happen soon. The U.S. and several Arab allies have already attacked oil fields, refineries, Islamic State troops, other terrorists and weapons in Syria even though Russia, Iran and Syria warned us not to do it. In the past, Syria, Russia and Iran have threatened to attack Israel, if Syria is attacked. Israel has her troops on high alert and the IDF has just shot down a Syrian jet that supposedly strayed over Israeli territory.

Fourth, on Sept. 17, 2014, Israel’s Minister of Intelligence, Yuvall Steinitz said Iran is nine to eighteen months away from developing a nuclear bomb and Iran already has missiles that can deliver one. He pointed out that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said, “Israel will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons.” Nine to eighteen months will quickly come and go. Therefore, it is obvious that time is running out for Israel to act and for Russia, Iran and others to respond.

Fifth, on Sept. 18, 2014, the P5 +1 (the permanent five members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) began what they call their final round of negotiations with Iran over the abandonment of Iran’s quest for nuclear weapons. Furthermore, the two sides have agreed to resolve all of their differences by Nov. 24, 2014. So the P5 + 1 and Iran are now less than two months away from their self-imposed deadline, the talks are going nowhere and Iran says she will not give up her nuclear program. In addition to this, because of western sanctions on Russia over her actions in Ukraine, Russia has threatened to retaliate against the west by siding with Iran in these negotiations.

Sixth, in 2013, Israel included almost three billion dollars in her budget to finance a war with Iran. In 2014, Israel budgeted almost three billion dollars more for a war with Iran. In Sept. 2014, while preparing Israel’s budget for 2015, a problem arose. Israeli Finance Minister, Yair Lapid, did not want to raise taxes on the Israeli people, but Israeli Air Force Commander, Maj.-Gen. Amir Eshel, wanted more money to upgrade Israel’s Air Force and Prime Minister Netanyahu wanted more money to finance operations to deal with security threats against Israel. Some in the media took Mr. Netanyahu’s request for more money to mean that Israel will soon attack Iran’s nuclear facilities. Could it happen in the next nine months?

Seventh, Russia’s economy is in trouble. Mr. Putin is still financing a covert war in Ukraine. Western nations have gradually upped sanctions on Russia and the sanctions are finally beginning to take hold. Russia threatened to cut off the flow of natural gas to the EU, but the loss of income could be devastating. The value of the Ruble has dropped 15% against the dollar this year and a recession is looming. Russia will soon have to change her ways, deal with a recession, or find a prey with silver and gold, cattle and goods.

Eighth, based on the Jewish Talmud (not the Bible) some say a Tetrad of blood moons are an omen of war for Israel. It is a debatable issue, but no one can deny that the first blood moon in the current Tetrad occurred on April 15, 2014 (the Feast of Passover), the next blood moon will occur on October 8, 2014 (the Feast of Tabernacles) and there will be two more in 2015.

Russia is still causing trouble in Ukraine; Pres. Obama is arming the so-called friendly rebels in Syria; the U.S. and several Arab allies are attacking the Islamic State in Syria; Israel’s war with Hamas is probably not over; so it is quite possible that within months God could set the hook on Russia. Time will tell.

PROPHECY CONNECTION: Ezekiel 38 (The Complete Jewish Bible,

The word of Adonai came to me: “Human being, turn your face toward Gog (of the land of Magog), chief prince of Meshekh and Tuval; and prophesy against him. Say that Adonai Elohim says, ‘I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshekh and Tuval. I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with all your army, horses and horsemen, all completely equipped, a great horde with breastplates and shields, all wielding swords. Paras, Ethiopia and Put are with them, all with breastplates and helmets; Gomer with all its troops; the house of Togarmah in the far reaches of the north, with all its troops — many peoples are with you. Prepare yourself, get ready, you and all your crowd gathered around you; and take charge of them.

After many days have passed, you will be mustered for service; in later years you will invade the land which has been brought back from the sword, gathered out of many peoples, the mountains of Isra’el. They had been lying in ruins for a long time, but now Isra’el has been extracted from the peoples and all of them are living there securely. You will come up like a storm, you will be like a cloud covering the land — you and all your troops, and many other peoples with you.’

10 Adonai Elohim says: ‘When that day comes, thoughts will well up in your mind, and you will devise a sinister scheme11 You will say, “I am going to invade this land of unwalled villages; I will take by surprise these people who are at peace, living securely, all in places without walls, bars or gates. 12 I will seize the spoil and take the plunder.” You will attack the former ruins that are now inhabited and come against the people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and other wealth and are living in the central parts of the land. 13 Sh’va, D’dan and all the leading merchants of Tarshish will ask you, “Have you come to seize spoil? Have you assembled your hordes to loot; to carry off silver, gold, livestock and other wealth; to take much plunder?”’

14 “Therefore, human being, prophesy! Tell Gog that Adonai Elohim says this: ‘Won’t you be aware of it when my people Isra’el are living in security? 15 You will choose just that time to come from your place in the far reaches of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them on horseback, a huge horde, a mighty army; 16 and you will invade my people Isra’el like a cloud covering the land. This will be in the acharit-hayamim; and I will bring you against my land, so that the Goyim will know me when, before their eyes, I am set apart as holy through you, Gog.’

17 Adonai Elohim says: ‘I spoke of you long ago through my servants the prophets of Isra’el. Back then, they prophesied for many years that I would have you invade them. 18 When that day comes, when Gog invades the land of Isra’el,’ says Adonai Elohim, ‘my furious anger will boil up. 19 In my jealousy, in my heated fury I speak: when that day comes there will be a great earthquake in the land of Isra’el; 20 so that the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the wild beasts, all the reptiles creeping on the ground and every human being there in the land will tremble before me. Mountains will fall, cliffs crumble and every wall crash to the ground. 21 I will summon a sword against him throughout all my mountains,’ says Adonai Elohim; ‘every man will wield his sword against his brother. 22 I will judge him with plague and with blood. I will cause torrential rain to fall on him, his troops and the many peoples with him, along with huge hailstones, fire and sulfur. 23 I will show my greatness and holiness, making myself known in the sight of many nations; then they will know that I am Adonai.’

Focus on Iran, Israel and America

Responding to Iran: Americans are not fooled by Khamenei’s lies. But what troubles us most is President Obama’s “feckless” policy towards Iran. He is presiding over the systemic collapse of American credibility around the globe.

April 3, 2014

Joel C Rosenberg

(New York City, New York) — An Iranian official this week attacked an op-ed I recently wrote with Senator Santorum for as “ludicrous, counterproductive and unfortunate.”

You can read our original op-ed here, and the Iranian official’s op-ed here.

Here is Senator Santorum’s and my response:

The American people are not fooled by the lies of Ayatollah Khamenei and his regime. Americans understand that Iran’s illegal nuclear program poses a grave danger to U.S. national security, to Israel, to NATO, and to our Arab allies in the Middle East.

As we stated in our column, a new poll shows that 80% of Americans fear a “Second Holocaust” if the world allows Iran to build nuclear weapons and the missiles to deliver them. Given that the Khamenei regime is one of the world’s worst state sponsors of terror, Americans are right to be so deeply concerned.

The regime’s response to our column would be laughable if its intent wasn’t so diabolical. Tehran is trying to use Hitler-esque spin as part of its charm offense. The mullahs are saying they just want peace and are hoping the West will surrender and ease off — or dismantle — the sanctions, even as they steadily develop the ability to annihilate their enemies.

What troubles us most, however, is the feckless, rudderless foreign policy of President Obama. Do our enemies fear him? Do our friends trust him? To the contrary, Mr. Obama is presiding over the systematic collapse of American credibility around the globe, from the Middle East to Russia to Asia. This vacuum of leadership is creating a very dangerous global environment and must be corrected quickly.

We believe in a bipartisan approach to American foreign policy. The challenges we face are serious but manageable if we unite as a country around a policy of peace through strength. That said, we also believe in the important role of a loyal opposition that warns the government when it is heading in the wrong direction.

In the 1930s, Winston Churchill warned the world that Adolf Hitler and the Nazis represented a gathering storm that had to be stopped early and decisively lest disaster ensue. A new gathering storm is brewing, as dangerous as the last, if not more so. We need an honest, strong, principled American foreign policy now more than ever, especially when it comes to the Iranian nuclear threat.

The stakes are too high for miscalculation.

Iranian official attacks oped I wrote with Senator Santorum as “ludicrous, counterproductive and unfortunate.”

Joel C. Rosenberg

(New York City, New York) — A new poll finds that 80% of Americans fear a “Second Holocaust” — the complete annihilation of Israel and her six million Jews — if the world allows Iran to build nuclear warheads. What’s more, 68% of Americans fear a “nuclear holocaust” inside the United States if Iran builds The Bomb.

Former Senator Rick Santorum and I cited these facts in a recent op-ed we wrote for, warning that the Iranian regime appears to be following Adolf Hitler’s playbook of calling for peace while actually building a war machine of devastating proportions.

Now, an official of the Iranian regime has responded, attacking our arguments as “ludicrous, counterproductive, and unfortunate.”

Hamid Babaei is counselor and head of press office for the Permanent Mission of Iran to the United Nations.

“The recent op-ed by Rick Santorum and Joel C. Rosenberg is yet another attempt to stymie and shackle Iran and international negotiators in ongoing talks about Iran’s peaceful nuclear program,” wrote Babaei. “Iran should be able to enjoy its right to peaceful nuclear energy while avoiding further hostilities and instability. Particularly illogical is their joining in the decades-old rhetoric, comparing who they see as their foe — Iran — to Adolf Hitler. Their view of the diplomatic path is misguided. Their attempt to compare the Iranian government to the murderous Third Reich is ludicrous, counterproductive and unfortunate….[T]heir comparisons to Hitler carry some insidious inferences. They say that since Hitler’s claim that he desired peace was a lie, Iran’s claims to want peace cannot be believed. Therefore diplomacy in general can’t happen and thus nations are locked in a policy of continuous war and aggression. They also seek to undermine any constructive debate about policy, and instead have the public and policy makers act out of sheer panic rather than thoughtful statesmanship.”

Later this morning, Senator Santorum and I will publish our response.

For now, here are further excerpts of our original column.

“On May 21, 1935, Adolf Hitler delivered his infamous ‘peace’ speech,” we wrote. “In his masterful history of Nazi Germany, The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, William L. Shirer quotes the Fuhrer’s remarks at length: ‘Germany needs peace and desires peace….Germany has solemnly recognized and guaranteed France her frontiers….Germany has concluded a non-aggression pact with Poland.’ Shirer, a CBS Radio correspondent, called the address ‘ne of the cleverest and most misleading of his Reichstag orations this writer, who sat through most of them, ever heard him make.’He observed the West seemed beguiled by the speech, noting the Times of London welcomed Hitler’s words ‘with almost hysterical joy.’….Yet Hitler was lying to buy time. He would not bring peace, but a horrific war, annexing Austria, invading France and Poland, and ordering the extermination of six million Jews.”

Santorum and I then stated that “such history is worth noting in today’s showdown with Iran. Many in the West seem beguiled by the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Hassan Rouhani.”

“Let me say loud and clear that peace is within reach,” Rouhani told the U.N. General Assembly last September.

“President Barack Obama praised Rouhani’s more moderate course,’ and The New York Times called Rouhani charming.’ By November 24, Iran had successfully negotiated an interim nuclear deal with the P5+1. The deal was widely lauded, especially by Iran. The ‘Geneva deal means the surrender of big powers before the great nation of Iran,’ Rouhani said in January.”

But no wonder the Iranians were so happy:

  • Sanctions were eased, and “Iran was given access to $550 million of its assets that are frozen overseas,” noted Iran Watch. “This is the first tranche of the $4.2 billion that Iran has been promised.”
  • The interim deal does not require Iran to dismantle a single centrifuge or stop enriching uranium to 3.5%.
  • Tehran has 18,000 centrifuges to enrich uranium, and some operate 15 times faster than older models.
  • After years of work and massive financial investment, Iran currently has only enough enriched uranium to run its Bushehr Reactor for three months, notes Valerie Lincy of the Wisconsin Project On Nuclear Arms Control.
  • Yet Iran now has enough enriched uranium to build six or seven nuclear warheads, Lincy adds.

“The world is at a critical moment,” we argued. “President Obama must insist on a final deal that requires Iran to fully dismantle its illegal uranium enrichment capabilities, its heavy water plutonium facility in Arak, and its nuclear weapons development efforts. The President — who never should have agreed to ease sanctions — should also support congressional efforts and declare that if Iran refuses to truly give up its nuclear ambitions, then he will sign aggressive new sanctions to be imposed the moment the six-month period of the interim deal is complete. What’s more, he should significantly beef up U.S. forces in the Persian Gulf, and abandon efforts to slash our Army to pre-World War II levels. Right now, the mullahs do not take Obama seriously. They do not believe a serious U.S. military option is really “on the table.” The President must make them believe it and restore American credibility.”
