The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, is currently in Washington D.C. He was invited by Speaker of the House John Boehner, and has not been welcomed by anyone in authority within the current administration. America’s President, Vice President, and Secretary of State are refusing to welcome PM Netanyahu and are boycotting the speech that he will deliver to Congress on Tuesday at 11:00 ET.
Netanyahu’s speech will come as observant Jews celebrate the feast of Purim — commemorating “the deliverance of the Jewish people from destruction at the hands of an evil servant of the King of Persia. The historic account is found in the book of Esther.” (Bill Wilson)
Netanyahu hopes to block the White House’s support of Iran’s development of nuclear technology, which will likely lead to the building of a nuclear bomb, with which it could fulfill its desire to annihilate Israel. The prime minister’s modern day mission seems similar to that of Esther’s ancient commission from God — to subvert the plan of ancient Persia (Iran) to destroy the Jewish nation.
Will the speech prove prophetic? Perhaps. But my focus will be on the response from someone in authority who will represent the American people. Will there be yet another “vow of defiance” as there was after 9/11? If you have not heard about God’s harbingers of warning to America, I recommend Jonathan Cahn’s insight, shared in “The Harbinger” and “Decoding the Harbinger.”
