Watching for the seven-year covenant …

I want to share a commentary by L.A. Marzulli that addresses the recent visit to Israel of Pope Francis and his meeting with the presidents of Israel and the Palestinians. But first let’s look at the related prophecies in Daniel 9:20-27 …

“While I [Daniel] was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and making my request to the Lord my God for his holy hill— while I was still in prayer, Gabriel, the man I had seen in the earlier vision, came to me in swift flight about the time of the evening sacrifice. He instructed me and said to me, ‘Daniel, I have now come to give you insight and understanding. As soon as you began to pray, a word went out, which I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed. Therefore, consider the word and understand the vision:”  …

The first part of Gabriel’s prophecy has been interpreted in many ways by various scholars and teachers, so I will let you look into verses 24 and 25 as you feel led. Let’s skip to verse 26 …

“… the Anointed One [Jesus] will be put to death and will have nothing. [This was accomplished at the crucifixion.] The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary [70  AD – Jerusalem and the Jewish temple were destroyed by Titus and his Roman legions]. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed.” [Wars have continued since that time. Waiting for the “desolation” that is to come when the temple is rebuilt.]

Verse 27:  He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven’ [seven ‘weeks’ or years]. In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.”

Notice this about verse 27: Jesus referred to this prophecy and the “abomination that causes desolation” in Matthew 24:15-16  — [Jesus speaking] So when you see standing in the holy place [the temple] ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.”

In other words, a time is yet to come when “he” will “confirm a covenant with many.” This covenant will be initiated with a seven-year deadline, and according to this prophecy, THE TEMPLE (which the Jews believe is necessary for their sacrifices and offerings to be made acceptable to the Lord God) will be rebuilt by the half-way point in the covenant. Many believe this will be a covenant of peace.

“In this, the birthplace of the Prince of Peace” the Pope said in Bethlehem’s Manger Square following a May 25 Mass, ” I wish to invite you, President Mahmoud Abbas, together with President Shimon Peres, to join me in heartfelt prayer to God for the gift of peace.”

We know from scripture that at the time of the end there will be a one world religion.  Think about it, until modernity it was impossible to accomplish this.  Now, with the tele-communications and satellite network in place, it’s no longer a pipe dream.

Prophecy tells us that at the time of end Jerusalem will be a cup of trembling.  Take a good look at the picture above.  The Pope, Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, and Simon Peres President of Israel are gathered together.  What is  being discussed is land for peace, with Jerusalem as the prize.  The Israeli’s claim Jerusalem as their capital and so do the Palestinians.  Take a good look at this interview from Egypt’s now-defunct Muslim Brotherhood, where the Imam Highazi is proclaiming Jerusalem will be the capital of the United Arab States:

It seems clear to me this is the objective of clerics like Highazi and others in the Muslim world. So how can there be peace when HAMAS and Hezbollah and radical clerics like Highazi want the destruction of the Jewish state?

Enter Pope Francis who invited Abbas and Peres to the Vatican for a garden chat.  It makes great press and the story went viral.  However, Francis has stated that Muslims worship the one true god.  http://www.infowars.com/pope-francis-and-the-emerging-one-world-religion/

I have a major red flag here, and thus am very suspect of anything else the man has to say.  Since Luther nailed his thesis to the door of the Wittenberg Church hundreds of years ago, there has been a split between the Catholic Church and the Protestant Reformers.   The history of the Catholic church is a sad tale of avarice and corruption and with all due respect to Catholics, The Catholic Church instigated the Crusades, and the Inquisition, both of which are black marks upon the church and have nothing to do with the Jesus of the Bible.

Then there’s the rape of South America, by the Spanish conquistadors, all for the lust of gold.  What happened to the native populations in the name of Christianity is another sad, black mark on Christendom.  It has nothing to do with the Jesus I know…

Dave Hunt’s ground breaking book, A Woman Rides the Beast, makes a case that the Catholic Church is the Harlot, described in the Book of Revelation.  These are strong words, but when we examine the text in Revelation and compare it to what the Catholic Church has done, over the centuries, it seems to make sense.  Is there any other organization that fits the description given to us in Revelation?

In closing todays post:  All of us want peace.  The Middle East and specifically the Israeli/Palestinian conflict must me tiresome after decades of strife.  However, this is precisely what the prophecy in the Bible warns us will happen in the last days.

The Pope may have the most noblest of intentions, or perhaps there is another agenda.  We know that the Vatican is positioning itself to embrace an alien saviour.  Cris Putnam and Tom Horns book, Exo-Vaticana, reveals this fact.

The one organization that is poised to create a one-world religion, that would embrace ET, at the moment, is the Catholic Church.  I don’t believe there is any other religion that can fill those shoes.

When ET arrives—and I believe it may be soon—everything changes.  It is the point of no return and could it be that the Catholic Church will be there to pick up the pieces and bring everyone into the new one-world religion.

Out of all the religions on the planet, Rome is poised to fulfill this role.  She is wealthy, full of pomp and ceremony, has a form of religion, and is almost 2000 years old.  She is full of the traditions of men and the Pope meets with the heads of state from all the nations of the earth.

In the end what was written will come to pass, what was foretold will unfold.  Keep Watching…

If you’re wondering about the reference to “ET” and the “alien savior,” I encourage you to search for more information about this fascinating researcher and his archeological findings regarding the “nephilim” mentioned in Genesis 6:1-4 and Numbers 13:31-33 — the men who were physical giants, seen by those who were sent out by Moses to search the Promised Land before the Israelites entered.
